Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB09

$234.99 $260.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 09 Single Joint, Level 1 The MB 09 is a more comfortable Myler version of the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. Although it lacks the benefits of a “true” Myler mouthpiece, it has a distinctive curve so the bars of the bit wrap around the horse’s bar and lips which make the bit more comfortable. NO Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece Copper Inlay Notes: Popular with riders who are more comfortable with a traditional design, but we recommend that you try the 01, 02, or 03 to get the full benefit of Myler features at the same Level. The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The HBT shank has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other. The purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. It has an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. The HBT shank uses the combination of the fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. Action: Indirect Discipline: Western Degree of Leverage: Mild Notes: The HBT is well suited to trail riding as the shorter shank makes grazing easier for the horse. 5"

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB32

$252.99 $280.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 32 Mullen Barrel, Level 2 The MB 32 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen. It is curved more than a traditional mullen, giving more room for the horse’s tongue under the bit. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: Popular with riders who are more comfortable with a traditional design, but we recommend that you try the MB 32-3 to get the full benefit of Myler features. For a ported mullen style offering more tongue relief, see the MB 06 or MB 36. The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB32-3 Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB32-3

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB32-3

$297.99 $330.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 32-3 Mullen Triple Barrel, Level 2 The MB 32-3 is an innovative Myler alternative to the traditional mullen. It has three barrels which turn the mouthpiece from the typical solid bar of a mullen into a flexible bar which allows the horse to elevate his tongue and swallow more easily. When the reins are engaged, the mouthpiece becomes a solid bar like a traditional mullen, but with an exaggerated curve. This curved bar rotates across the bars and lips down on to the tongue, applying pressure across the entire surface of the tongue. The flexibility of the MB 32-3 makes it very forgiving and comforting when relaxed, but offers the rider control when engaged. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: Because the tongue pressure applied by the MB 32-3 is evenly distributed across the entire tongue, this mouthpiece is considered "stronger" than the MB 04. However, its flexibility makes it a forgiving mouthpiece that works well for horses who have suffered mouth trauma or damage, or horses that tend to go behind the bit. For a ported mullen style offering more tongue relief, see the MB 06 or MB 36. The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB33 Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB33

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB33

$269.99 $300.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 33 Medium Wide Ported Barrel, Level 3 The MB 33 is the mildest Myler mouthpiece in terms of tongue pressure. The generously wide port allows room for the tongue to pass almost completely under the bit. Because this mouthpiece does not rotate on to the tongue and the port is wide, it applies little to no tongue pressure, working primarily off the lips and bars. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ½" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Because the MB 33 offers such a high degree of tongue relief, the horse that goes well in this mouthpiece has a trustworthy and consistent disposition, and is trained to work off the leg and seat as well as the hands. Cyprium is a nickel-free copper alloy suitable for horses with a sensitivity to nickel. Independent Side Movement Curved Mouthpiece Copper Inlay Notes: For a slight increase in tongue pressure, see the MB 43LP or MB 43MP. For same tongue relief without Independent Side Movement, see the MB 16 (Western only). For the same tongue relief and Independent Side Movement, but with a slight degree of collapse, see the MB 05. For more generous tongue relief, see the MB 16PB. The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB36 Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB36

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB36

$292.99 $325.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 36 Mullen Forward Tilt Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 36 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is 1" high, and tilted forward at a 45º angle, allowing just enough room for the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lip, but also applies tongue pressure because of the forward tilt. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars Copper Inlay Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece is similar to the MB 06, except that it is ¼" higher and the port is tilted forward. The MB 06 mouthpiece will apply less tongue pressure than the MB 36 but additionally offer less tongue relief when the reins are relaxed. For more overall tongue relief and less tongue pressure, see the 43LP. Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB43LP

$278.99 $319.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MP 43LP Narrow Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 43LP does not rotate on to the tongue, but instead sits solidly across the bars and lips of the horse’s mouth. The port is narrower than a Level 3 mouthpiece, but still offers room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. Because the port is narrow, when the reins are engaged, the horse will feel a slight pressure on the outside edges of the tongue — a gentle reminder rather than a strong reprimand. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ¼" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. It is the mildest of the Level 2-3 mouthpieces in terms of tongue pressure, just one step below a Level 3 mouthpiece. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: For more tongue pressure, see the MB 27LP, MB 27PB or the MB 41PB. For more tongue relief, see the MB 43MP. For the same benefits but with some palate pressure, see the MB 43HP. For the correctional version of this mouthpiece, see the MB 47 or MB 47PB. For the Level 3 version of this mouthpiece but no Independent Side Movement, see the MB 12 or MB 98. Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB47

$296.99 $330.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 47 Traditional Correctional, Level 2-3 The MB 47 is a traditional correctional mouthpiece, which has a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. The MB 47 is identical to the MB 47PB but lacks Independent Side Movement. Sweet Iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. NO Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars Copper Inlay Notes: This mouthpiece is the correctional version of the MB 43HP. For the same mouthpiece but with Independent Side Movement, see the MB 47PB. For the non-correctional version and little to no palate pressure, see the MB 43LP. Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB47PB

$305.99 $340.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 47PB Correctional Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The 47PB is a correctional mouthpiece, a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. The port is narrower than a Level 3 mouthpiece, but offers plenty of room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. The angles of the port are rounded, so when the bit collapses and applies two points of pressure on the tongue, the pressure is mild. The port on this mouthpiece is 1 ⅞" high, so it will apply some palate pressure. Sweet Iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars Copper Inlay Notes: A horse with a thicker tongue or lower palate will feel more palate pressure. This mouthpiece is the correctional version of the MB 43HP and is identical to the MB 47, but with the added benefit of Independent Side Movement. For increased tongue pressure and same palate pressure, see the MB 27PB or MB 27PB HP. For more tongue relief with same palate pressure, see the 43HP. For less tongue pressure and little to no palate pressure, see the MB 43LP or MB 43MP. For the same mouthpiece but without Independent Side Movement, see the MB 47. The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. $323.99 $360.00
Myler MBB Black Steel 6 3/4" Medium Shank, MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle, Level 2 The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure, however, it has a small (¼") port that introduces some tongue relief to the horse. The port allows the horse to swallow and move his tongue when he is moving forward and relaxed, which acts as a release or reward. The mouthpiece is curved, and it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Black steel shank will discolor over time to an antique brown Stainless steel dots Copper Inlay Notes: The MB 04 provides an excellent transition from Level One to Level Two. It is suitable for a wide range of horses including green horses, experienced horses entering the Myler System, horses that have been ridden exclusively in a single-jointed mouthpiece, or horses that have not been ridden for a while needing re-schooling. The MBB shank is a length of flat black steel curved slightly back towards the horse, with a teardrop purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment to the cheek with a decorative “stack.” The shank is decorated with stainless steel dots. The purchase is angled slightly away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. The black steel will discolor over time to an antique brown. The MBB flat shank is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase.
