Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB09

$234.99 $260.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 09 Single Joint, Level 1 The MB 09 is a more comfortable Myler version of the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. Although it lacks the benefits of a “true” Myler mouthpiece, it has a distinctive curve so the bars of the bit wrap around the horse’s bar and lips which make the bit more comfortable. NO Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece Copper Inlay Notes: Popular with riders who are more comfortable with a traditional design, but we recommend that you try the 01, 02, or 03 to get the full benefit of Myler features at the same Level. The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The HBT shank has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other. The purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. It has an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. The HBT shank uses the combination of the fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. Action: Indirect Discipline: Western Degree of Leverage: Mild Notes: The HBT is well suited to trail riding as the shorter shank makes grazing easier for the horse. 5"

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB32

$252.99 $280.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 32 Mullen Barrel, Level 2 The MB 32 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen. It is curved more than a traditional mullen, giving more room for the horse’s tongue under the bit. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: Popular with riders who are more comfortable with a traditional design, but we recommend that you try the MB 32-3 to get the full benefit of Myler features. For a ported mullen style offering more tongue relief, see the MB 06 or MB 36. The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. Lynn McKenzie Myler 3-Ring Combo MB04 Lynn McKenzie Myler 3-Ring Combo MB04

Lynn McKenzie Myler 3-Ring Combo MB04

$349.99 $389.99
Myler Stainless Steel 4 3/4" 2-Ring Combination Bit with Rawhide Noseband, MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle, Level 2 The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure, however, it has a small (¼") port that introduces some tongue relief to the horse. The port allows the horse to swallow and move his tongue when he is moving forward and relaxed, which acts as a release or reward. The mouthpiece is curved, and it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay The 6" stainless steel 3-ring combination bit is a hybrid of a ring bit, shank bit, and hackamore and uses five different pressure points to disperse rein pressure. Because the noseband and chin strap are connected through the purchase, when the reins are engaged, the horse first feels nose, chin and poll pressure before he feels the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece can slide 1" before reaching a stop, where it will then engage and apply pressure. The purpose is to give the horse an opportunity to respond to the rider’s rein signals before applying mouthpiece pressure. The combination bit has Independent Swivel Cheek and the purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing. The noseband is flat leather with knotted cord on either side and the chin strap is synthetic to avoid stretching over time. Action: Indirect Discipline: English or Western Degree of Leverage: The 3-ring combination bit offers three different rein positions: the big ring, middle ring and bottom ring. Big Ring = No leverage Middle Ring = Mild Bottom Ring = Mild Notes: If you ride with your rein attached to the big ring, it will function only as a direct rein snaffle and not apply nose, chin, poll pressure as a combination bit.   This bit is special order and final sale.

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB47PB Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB47PB

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB47PB

$305.99 $340.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 47PB Correctional Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The 47PB is a correctional mouthpiece, a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. The port is narrower than a Level 3 mouthpiece, but offers plenty of room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. The angles of the port are rounded, so when the bit collapses and applies two points of pressure on the tongue, the pressure is mild. The port on this mouthpiece is 1 ⅞" high, so it will apply some palate pressure. Sweet Iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars Copper Inlay Notes: A horse with a thicker tongue or lower palate will feel more palate pressure. This mouthpiece is the correctional version of the MB 43HP and is identical to the MB 47, but with the added benefit of Independent Side Movement. For increased tongue pressure and same palate pressure, see the MB 27PB or MB 27PB HP. For more tongue relief with same palate pressure, see the 43HP. For less tongue pressure and little to no palate pressure, see the MB 43LP or MB 43MP. For the same mouthpiece but without Independent Side Movement, see the MB 47. Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB47

$296.99 $330.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 47 Traditional Correctional, Level 2-3 The MB 47 is a traditional correctional mouthpiece, which has a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. The MB 47 is identical to the MB 47PB but lacks Independent Side Movement. Sweet Iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. NO Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars Copper Inlay Notes: This mouthpiece is the correctional version of the MB 43HP. For the same mouthpiece but with Independent Side Movement, see the MB 47PB. For the non-correctional version and little to no palate pressure, see the MB 43LP. Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB03T

$309.99
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 03T Twisted Comfort Snaffle with Copper Roller, Level 1 The MB 03T is a Myler twist version of the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits with an added copper roller. The MB 03T rotates onto the tongue, applying tongue pressure, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and creates Independent Side Movement™. The MB 03T twist has no pronounced sharp edges, and the twist is a mirror on each side of the center barrel to provide a balanced feel for horse and rider. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece NO Copper Inlay Notes: The MB 03T is similar to the MB 02 except for a copper roller on the center barrel which can comfort horses that are restless or nervous. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04. Myler Eggbutt Bit w/ Hooks MB06 Myler Eggbutt Bit w/ Hooks MB06

Myler Eggbutt Bit w/ Hooks MB06

$242.99 $270.00
Myler Stainless Steel Eggbutt with Hooks, MB 06 Mullen with Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-The MB 06 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is ¾" high, just enough to allow the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the 06 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lips. Independent Side Movement Stainless Steel Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay NOT Dressage Legal Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece will offer more tongue relief than the MB 06 when the reins are relaxed, but more tongue pressure when the reins are engaged. For more overall tongue relief, see MB 43LP. The addition of the hooks to the cheek make this a more versatile version of the eggbutt without hooks. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheeks. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allows the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece (if available). Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Adding a curb strap (using a Myler curb strap kit) incorporates curb pressure. Curb pressure is recommended for ported mouthpieces. The small loop behind the top slot accommodates a curb strap (attach with two curb hooks). Both the top bridle slot and bottom rein slot will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather. Size: 3 ½" rounded ring Action: Direct rein action when rein hook is not used. Indirect rein action when rein is fixed on rein hook. Discipline: English or Western Degree of Leverage: Little to no leverage when the hooks are used. 5"

Myler Embossed Western Shank Bit MB98 Myler Embossed Western Shank Bit MB98

Myler Embossed Western Shank Bit MB98

$296.99 $330.00
Myler Stainless Steel 7 1/2" Embossed Seven Shank, MB 98 Narrow Medium Port, Level 3 The MB 98 does not rotate on to the tongue, but instead sits solidly across the bars and lips of the horse’s mouth. The port is narrower than most Level 3 mouthpieces, but still offers ample room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit easily. Because the port is narrow, when the reins are engaged, the horse might feel a slight pressure on the outside edges of the tongue — a gentle reminder rather than a strong reprimand. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ⅝" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Because the MB 98 does not have Independent Side Movement™, it has a more solid feel. NO Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Copper Inlay Notes: For Independent Side Movement and similar tongue relief, see the 43MP. For more tongue relief with Independent Side Movement, see the 33 or 16PB. For more tongue relief and no Independent Side Movement, see the 16. The Embossed Seven Shank is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. This shank uses the combination of fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. The cheek is embossed with a decorative floral pattern and concho. The mouthpiece attaches to the cheek with a square end that minimizes rein motion. The purchase is angled slightly away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. Myler Embossed Western Shank Bit MB36

$323.99 $360.00
Myler Stainless Steel Embossed 7 1/2" Shank, MB 36 Mullen Forward Tilt Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 36 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is 1" high, and tilted forward at a 45º angle, allowing just enough room for the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lip, but also applies tongue pressure because of the forward tilt. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars Copper Inlay Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece is similar to the MB 06, except that it is ¼" higher and the port is tilted forward. The MB 06 mouthpiece will apply less tongue pressure than the MB 36 but additionally offer less tongue relief when the reins are relaxed. For more overall tongue relief and less tongue pressure, see the 43MP. The Embossed Seven Shank is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. Myler Flat Shank Western Bit MB29 Myler Flat Shank Western Bit MB29

Myler Flat Shank Western Bit MB29

$332.99 $370.00
Myler Stainless Steel 7" Flat Shank, MB 29 Correctional Cathedral Port, Level 2-3 The MB 29 is a traditional correctional mouthpiece, which has a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. The port itself is 1 ½" high, offering room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. The flat plate above the port is 1 ¼" high and ¾" wide and tilts back rather than sitting straight up. When the reins are engaged, the mouthpiece collapses and applies two points of pressure on the tongue while the flat plate tips forward and applies pressure to the palate. The pressure on the palate is distributed across the surface of the plate. Sweet Iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. NO Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece Copper Inlay Notes: The MB 29 is not designed for use by the casual rider. Its use requires a very experienced rider with excellent hand control and a horse that is very finished in his training who knows how to ride off seat and leg, as well as being very light on the rein aids. When palate pressure is applied properly, it causes the horse to drop his head but because the palate is so sensitive, that type of pressure needs to be used with great restraint. For the same tongue relief but with milder palate pressure, see the MB 27PB HP. For a solid version offering more tongue relief with palate pressure, see the MB 13C. The 7" Flat Shank is stainless steel and curved slightly back towards the horse, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The Flat Shank has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other. The purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. It has an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. Myler Parelli Shank Western Bit MB43LP

$349.99
Myler Parelli Stainless Steel B2 6" Shank, MB 43LP Narrow Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 Working together since September 2006, Parelli USA and Myler Bits have designed a new Parelli Myler series of bits to compliment the Parelli Natural horsemanship program. The MB 43LP does not rotate on to the tongue, but instead sits solidly across the bars and lips of the horse’s mouth. The port is narrower than a Level 3 mouthpiece, but still offers room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. Because the port is narrow, when the reins are engaged, the horse will feel a slight pressure on the outside edges of the tongue — a gentle reminder rather than a strong reprimand. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ¼" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. It is the mildest of the Level 2-3 mouthpieces in terms of tongue pressure, just one step below a Level 3 mouthpiece. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Stainless Steel mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Note: For more tongue relief, see the B3 Shank with MB 33.
