The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure, however, it has a small (¼") port that introduces some tongue relief to the horse. The port allows the horse to swallow and move his tongue when he is moving forward and relaxed, which acts as a release or reward. The mouthpiece is curved, and it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching.

Notes: The MB 04 provides an excellent transition from Level One to Level Two. It is suitable for a wide range of horses including green horses, experienced horses entering the Myler System, horses that have been ridden exclusively in a single-jointed mouthpiece, or horses that have not been ridden for a while needing re-schooling.
The full cheek with hooks is a traditional cheek style designed to be used with bit keepers (sold separately) to hold the bit in correct position. The posts also prevent the bit from sliding through the mouth while applying cheek pressure. When used without bit keepers, bit will sit in the mouth similarly to a dee or eggbutt without hooks. The ring has fixed attachment of the mouthpiece, as well as one rein slots (“hooks”) at the bottom of the ring for rein attachment. No attachment for curb chain or strap. TThe rein slot will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather.
The hook makes this a much more versatile bit than one without the hook. Using bit keepers to hold the post in the correct position stabilizes the bit in the bridle instead of allowing it to flop forward. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allow the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece. Using the rein hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit.

Myler Kimberwick Bit MB36

Myler Stainless Steel Kimberwick, MB 36 Mullen Forward Tilt Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3
The MB 36 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is 1" high, and tilted forward at a 45º angle, allowing just enough room for the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lip, but also applies tongue pressure because of the forward tilt.

Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece is similar to the MB 06, except that it is ¼" higher and the port is tilted forward. The MB 06 mouthpiece will apply less tongue pressure than the MB 36 but additionally offer less tongue relief when the reins are relaxed. The Kimberwick is a “D” shaped stainless steel ring with a purchase for the headstall and two attachment options for a single pair of reins: the direct (snaffle) and the indirect (curb) positions. Comes with curb chain. Like the Pelham, the purchase creates a fixed cheek so the bit is held in the correct position. The rider can choose the direct (snaffle) position or indirect (Curb) position for rein attachment. The Indirect Rein position adds very little to mild leverage. Designed to be used with only one pair of reins.

Myler Stainless Steel Loose Ring, MB 10 French Link, Level 1
The MB 10 is a more comfortable Myler version of the traditional French link mouthpiece. It has a smaller link with a flatter contour which allows the tongue more freedom in the mouth and minimizes interference with the palate. Although it lacks the benefits of a “true” Myler mouthpiece, it has a distinctive curve so the bars of the bit wrap around the horse’s bar and lips which make the bit more comfortable.

Notes: The MB 10 disperses pressure over the tongue similarly to the MB 02, but does not offer the Independent Side Movement™ of a true Myler mouthpiece. The loose ring is a simple stainless steel "O" shape where both the bridle and mouthpiece have no fixed point of attachment but slide freely around the ring. The loose ring allows a lot of play as the mouthpiece slides freely around the ring.

Notes: The loose ring is generally considered one of the most non-interfering cheek pieces because the mouthpiece slides freely around the ring. However the play in the mouthpiece can make it difficult for a horse to find your hands as the mouthpiece is in continual motion. The movement of the mouthpiece can also exaggerate or create a busy mouth in young or anxious horses. It is best suited for more advanced horses fully schooled in leg and seat aids as well as rein aids.

The dee with hooks is a stainless steel "D" shaped ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece, as well as slots (“hooks”) at the top and bottom of the ring for bridle and rein attachment. The small loop behind the top slot accommodates a curb strap (attach with two curb hooks). Both the top bridle slot and bottom rein slot on the standard and medium dee will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather. The slots on the pony dee will fit ¾" bridle leather.
The hooks make this a much more versatile version of the dee without hooks. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheek pieces. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allow the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece. Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Adding a curb strap (using a Myler curb strap kit) incorporates curb pressure. Curb pressure is recommended for ported mouthpieces.

Myler Stainless Steel 3 3/4" Dee without Hooks, MB 01T Twisted Comfort Snaffle with Narrow Barrel, Level 1
The MB 01T twist has no pronounced sharp edges, and the twist is a mirror on each side of the center barrel to provide a balanced feel for horse and rider. It is the Myler alternative to the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 01T rotates onto the tongue to apply concentrated tongue pressure at the center barrel, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. However, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and allows for each side of the bit to be used independently.
