The MB 27PB MP is a Myler correctional mouthpiece, which is a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. The port, although narrow and somewhat low, allows room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. When the reins are engaged and the mouthpiece rotates on to the tongue, it applies two concentrated points of pressure on the tongue for quick control. The port will apply little to no palate pressure. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.

Notes: For more tongue relief, see the MB 41PB. For the same mouthpiece without Independent Side Movement, see the MB 27LP. For a non-correctional version offering more tongue relief, see the MB 43LP.
The Embossed Seven Shank is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. This shank uses the combination of fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. The cheek is embossed with a decorative floral pattern and concho. The mouthpiece attaches to the cheek with a square end that minimizes rein motion. The purchase is angled slightly away from the cheek to avoid rubbing.
