Myler Dee Ring Bit w/ Hooks MB36

$296.99 $320.00
*You are seeing a brand new design for this cheekpiece. Please be aware that some retailers may not have this style in stock yet so you may receive the original design. Myler Stainless Steel 3 3/4" Dee with Hooks, MB 36 Mullen Forward Tilt Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 3" Dee on pony sizes The MB 36 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is 1" high, and tilted forward at a 45º angle, allowing just enough room for the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lip, but also applies tongue pressure because of the forward tilt. Independent Side Movement Stainless Steel mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars Copper Inlay Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece is similar to the MB 06, except that it is ¼" higher and the port is tilted forward. The MB 06 mouthpiece will apply less tongue pressure than the MB 36 but additionally offer less tongue relief when the reins are relaxed. For more overall tongue relief and less tongue pressure, see the 43LP. The hooks make this a much more versatile version of the dee without hooks. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheek pieces. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allow the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece. Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Adding a curb strap (using a Myler curb strap kit) incorporates curb pressure. Curb pressure is recommended for ported mouthpieces. Size: 3 3/4" dee on 5" mouthpiece, and 3" dee on 4 1/4" and 4 1/2" mouthpieces Action: Direct rein action when reins are not attached through rein hook. Indirect rein action when rein is fixed on rein hook. Discipline: Primarily English Degree of Leverage: Little to no leverage when the hooks are used 5"

Myler Stainless Steel 3 3/4" Dee without Hooks, MB 32 Mullen Barrel, Level 2 3" Dee on Pony Sizes The MB 32 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen. Notes: Popular with riders who are more comfortable with a traditional design, but we recommend that you try the MB 32-3 to get the full benefit of Myler features. Myler Dee Ring Bit w/ Hooks MB01 Myler Dee Ring Bit w/ Hooks MB01

Myler Dee Ring Bit w/ Hooks MB01

$260.99 $290.00
Myler Stainless Steel 3 3/4" Dee with Hooks, MB 01 Comfort Snaffle with Narrow Barrel, Level 1 The MB 01 is the Myler alternative to the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 01 rotates onto the tongue to apply concentrated tongue pressure at the center barrel, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. However, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and allows for each side of the bit to be used independently. Independent Side Movement™ Stainless Steel mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay NOT Dressage Legal Notes: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02 but the center barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, which concentrates pressure on the center of the tongue more than the MB 02. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04. The dee with hooks is a stainless steel "D" shaped ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece, as well as slots (“hooks”) at the top and bottom of the ring for bridle and rein attachment. The small loop behind the top slot accommodates a curb strap (attach with two curb hooks). Both the top bridle slot and bottom rein slot on the standard and medium dee will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather. The slots on the pony dee will fit ¾" bridle leather. Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB02 Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB02

Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB02

$350.99 $390.00
Myler Stainless Steel 6" Shank 3-Ring Combination Bit, MB 02 Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel, Level 1 The MB 02 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 02 rotates onto the tongue, applying tongue pressure, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and creates Independent Side Movement™. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement™ Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02 but the center barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, which concentrates pressure on the center of the tongue more than the MB 02. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04. The 6" stainless steel 3-ring combination bit is a hybrid of a ring bit, shank bit, and hackamore and uses five different pressure points to disperse rein pressure. Because the noseband and chin strap are connected through the purchase, when the reins are engaged, the horse first feels nose, chin and poll pressure before he feels the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece can slide 1" before reaching a stop, where it will then engage and apply pressure. The purpose is to give the horse an opportunity to respond to the rider’s rein signals before applying mouthpiece pressure. The combination bit has Independent Swivel Cheek and the purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing. The noseband is flat leather with knotted cord on either side and the chin strap is synthetic to avoid stretching over time. Action: Indirect Discipline: English or Western Degree of Leverage: The 3-ring combination bit offers three different rein positions: the big ring, middle ring and bottom ring. Big Ring = No leverage Middle Ring = Mild Bottom Ring = Mild Notes: If you ride with your rein attached to the big ring, it will function only as a direct rein snaffle and not apply nose, chin, poll pressure as a combination bit. 5" 4.75" Available by Special Order

Myler Pelham Bit MB02

$323.99 $360.00
Myler Stainless Steel Pelham, MB 02 Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel, Level 1 The MB 02 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. Independent Side Movement™ Stainless Steel mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02 but the center barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, which concentrates pressure on the center of the tongue more than the MB 02. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04. The stainless steel Pelham is designed to be used with two pairs of reins simultaneously. The headstall attaches to the purchase ring which keeps the cheek stationary. The first set of reins are the snaffle reins, which attach to the larger ring adjacent to the mouthpiece. The second set of reins are the curb reins, which attach to the smaller ring at the bottom of the shank. Comes with curb chain. The Pelham uses both direct (snaffle) and indirect (curb) rein action using two sets of reins acting on one mouthpiece. Similar to a double bridle, which also uses two sets of reins, but the double bridle requires a snaffle bit for the snaffle rein and a curb bit for the curb rein. The Pelham can be used with a bit converter, a leather loop connecting the snaffle and curb ring to which only one set of reins is attached. Action: Snaffle ring is Direct rein action. Curb ring is Indirect rein action. Size: 4" straight shank with purchase Discipline: English Degree of Leverage: Mild Notes: For a cheek that offers both Direct and Indirect rein as separate options for one set of reins, see the Kimberwick. 5"
