Myler Loose Ring Bit MB09 Myler Loose Ring Bit MB09

Myler Loose Ring Bit MB09

$134.99 $149.00
Myler Stainless Steel Loose Ring, MB 09 Stainless Steel Single Joint, Level 1 The MB 09 is a more comfortable Myler version of the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. Although it lacks the benefits of a “true” Myler mouthpiece, it has a distinctive curve so the bars of the bit wrap around the horse’s bar and lips which make the bit more comfortable. NO Independent Side Movement Stainless Steel Mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece Copper Inlay USEF and FEI Dressage Legal. Consult rulebook for more information. Notes: Popular with riders who are more comfortable with a traditional design, but we recommend that you try the 01, 02, or 03 to get the full benefit of Myler features at the same Level. The loose ring is a simple stainless steel "O" shape where both the bridle and mouthpiece have no fixed point of attachment but slide freely around the ring. The loose ring allows a lot of play as the mouthpiece slides freely around the ring. Size: 3" ring Action: Direct Discipline: English or Western Notes: The loose ring is generally considered one of the most non-interfering cheek pieces because the mouthpiece slides freely around the ring. However the play in the mouthpiece can make it difficult for a horse to find your hands as the mouthpiece is in continual motion. The movement of the mouthpiece can also exaggerate or create a busy mouth in young or anxious horses. It is best suited for more advanced horses fully schooled in leg and seat aids as well as rein aids. 5"

It is a more comfortable Myler version of the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. Although it lacks the benefits of a “true” Myler mouthpiece, it has a distinctive curve so the bars of the bit wrap around the horse’s bar and lips which make the bit more comfortable. Cyprium is a nickel-free copper alloy suitable for horses with a sensitivity to nickel. NO Independent Side Movement Cyprium Mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece NO Copper Inlay Notes: Popular with riders who are more comfortable with a traditional design, but we recommend that you try the 01, 02, or 03 to get the full benefit of Myler features at the same Level. The dee without hooks is a traditional "D" shaped cheek with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece. This style keeps the mouthpiece from draping on the tongue, providing a more direct signal than the loose ring. The straight side of the dee will not pull through the mouth and does not pinch. Myler Full Cheek Bit w/ Hooks MB03 Myler Full Cheek Bit w/ Hooks MB03

Myler Full Cheek Bit w/ Hooks MB03

$296.99 $330.00
Myler Stainless Steel Full Cheek with Hooks, MB 03 Comfort Snaffle with Copper Roller, Level 1 The MB 03 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits with an added copper roller. The MB 03 rotates onto the tongue, applying tongue pressure, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and creates Independent Side Movement™. Independent Side Movement Stainless Steel Mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece Copper Inlay NOT Dressage Legal Notes: The MB 03 is identical to the MB 02 except for a copper roller on the center barrel which can comfort horses that are restless or nervous. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04. The full cheek with hooks is a traditional cheek style designed to be used with bit keepers (sold separately) to hold the bit in correct position. The posts also prevent the bit from sliding through the mouth while applying cheek pressure. When used without bit keepers, bit will sit in the mouth similarly to a dee or eggbutt without hooks. The ring has fixed attachment of the mouthpiece, as well as one rein slots (“hooks”) at the bottom of the ring for rein attachment. No attachment for curb chain or strap. TThe rein slot will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather. The hook makes this a much more versatile bit than one without the hook. Using bit keepers to hold the post in the correct position stabilizes the bit in the bridle instead of allowing it to flop forward. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allow the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece. Using the rein hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Action: Direct rein action when reins are not attached through rein hook. Indirect rein action when rein is fixed on rein hook. Size: Rounded 2 ¼" ring, 6" overall height Discipline: Primarily English with bit keepers. Commonly used in Western without bit keepers. Degree of Leverage: Little to no leverage when the hooks are used 5"

Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB32-3 Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB32-3

Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB32-3

$366.99 $408.00
Myler Stainless Steel 3-Ring Combination Bit, MB 32-3 Mullen Triple Barrel, Level 2 The MB 32-3 is an innovative Myler alternative to the traditional mullen. It has three barrels which turn the mouthpiece from the typical solid bar of a mullen into a flexible bar which allows the horse to elevate his tongue and swallow more easily. When the reins are engaged, the mouthpiece becomes a solid bar like a traditional mullen, but with an exaggerated curve. This curved bar rotates across the bars and lips down on to the tongue, applying pressure across the entire surface of the tongue. The flexibility of the MB 32-3 makes it very forgiving and comforting when relaxed, but offers the rider control when engaged. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: Because the tongue pressure applied by the MB 32-3 is evenly distributed across the entire tongue, this mouthpiece is considered "stronger" than the MB 04. However, its flexibility makes it a forgiving mouthpiece that works well for horses who have suffered mouth trauma or damage, or horses that tend to go behind the bit. For a ported mullen style offering more tongue relief, see the MB 06 or MB 36. The 6" stainless steel 3-ring combination bit is a hybrid of a ring bit, shank bit, and hackamore and uses five different pressure points to disperse rein pressure. Because the noseband and chin strap are connected through the purchase, when the reins are engaged, the horse first feels nose, chin and poll pressure before he feels the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece can slide 1" before reaching a stop, where it will then engage and apply pressure. The purpose is to give the horse an opportunity to respond to the rider’s rein signals before applying mouthpiece pressure. The combination bit has Independent Swivel Cheek and the purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing. The noseband is flat leather with knotted cord on either side and the chin strap is synthetic to avoid stretching over time. Action: Indirect Discipline: English or Western Degree of Leverage: The 3-ring combination bit offers three different rein positions: the big ring, middle ring and bottom ring. Big Ring = No leverage Middle Ring = Mild Bottom Ring = Mild Notes: If you ride with your rein attached to the big ring, it will function only as a direct rein snaffle and not apply nose, chin, poll pressure as a combination bit. 5"

Myler® Medium Baucher with Low Port Comfort Snaffle MB04

Myler® Medium Baucher with Low Port Comfort Snaff...

$237.99 $265.00
SPECIAL ORDER, PLEASE ALLOW 4-6 WEEKS DELIVERY Stainless steel 3 1/2" baucher with MB 04 sweet iron mouthpiece and copper inlay (low port Comfort Snaffle). Myler Stainless Steel Medium Baucher, MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle, Level 2 The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure, however, it has a small (¼") port that introduces some tongue relief to the horse. The port allows the horse to swallow and move his tongue when he is moving forward and relaxed, which acts as a release or reward. The mouthpiece is curved, and it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. Independent Side Movement Stainless Steel Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay USEF and FEI Dressage Legal. Consult the rulebook for more information. Notes: The MB 04 provides an excellent transition from Level One to Level Two. It is suitable for a wide range of horses, including green horses, experienced horses entering the Myler System, horses that have been ridden exclusively in a single-jointed mouthpiece, or horses that have not been ridden for a while needing re-schooling. Also known as a “hanging cheek” because the bridle attaches at the purchase, the Baucher is typically used for dressage. The fixed cheek keeps the bit suspended in the horse’s mouth and prevents it from sliding around in the bridle, giving the rider more control over the mouthpiece than a traditional loose ring. However, the reins remain free to slide. When engaged, the reins will pull back on the cheekpiece and mouthpiece, as well as rotate the purchase forward slightly, creating some poll pressure. Even though it has a fixed cheek, the Baucher is still considered a direct rein action cheekpiece because there is no leverage or curb action. Size: 3 ½" cheek, 2 ⅜" ring. Measurement from top of the mouthpiece to top of the purchase is 5.5 cm.  Action: Direct Discipline: English

Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB06

$269.99 $339.99
Myler Stainless Steel 3-Ring Combination Bit, MB 06 Mullen with Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 06 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is ¾" high, just enough to allow the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the 06 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lips. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. Myler Stainless Steel 3 3/4" Dee with Hooks, MB 27PB Correctional Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 27PB is a Myler correctional mouthpiece, which is a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. The port, although narrow and somewhat low, allows room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. When the reins are engaged and the mouthpiece rotates on to the tongue, it applies two concentrated points of pressure on the tongue for quick control. Because this port is only 1 ¼" high, it will apply little to no palate pressure.
