Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB32-3 Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB32-3

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB32-3

$297.99 $330.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 32-3 Mullen Triple Barrel, Level 2 The MB 32-3 is an innovative Myler alternative to the traditional mullen. It has three barrels which turn the mouthpiece from the typical solid bar of a mullen into a flexible bar which allows the horse to elevate his tongue and swallow more easily. When the reins are engaged, the mouthpiece becomes a solid bar like a traditional mullen, but with an exaggerated curve. This curved bar rotates across the bars and lips down on to the tongue, applying pressure across the entire surface of the tongue. The flexibility of the MB 32-3 makes it very forgiving and comforting when relaxed, but offers the rider control when engaged. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: Because the tongue pressure applied by the MB 32-3 is evenly distributed across the entire tongue, this mouthpiece is considered "stronger" than the MB 04. However, its flexibility makes it a forgiving mouthpiece that works well for horses who have suffered mouth trauma or damage, or horses that tend to go behind the bit. For a ported mullen style offering more tongue relief, see the MB 06 or MB 36. The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The HBT shank has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other. The purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. It has an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. The HBT shank uses the combination of the fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. Action: Indirect Discipline: Western Degree of Leverage: Mild Notes: The HBT is well suited to trail riding as the shorter shank makes grazing easier for the horse. 5"

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB43LP

$278.99 $319.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MP 43LP Narrow Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 43LP does not rotate on to the tongue, but instead sits solidly across the bars and lips of the horse’s mouth. The port is narrower than a Level 3 mouthpiece, but still offers room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. Because the port is narrow, when the reins are engaged, the horse will feel a slight pressure on the outside edges of the tongue — a gentle reminder rather than a strong reprimand. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ¼" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. It is the mildest of the Level 2-3 mouthpieces in terms of tongue pressure, just one step below a Level 3 mouthpiece. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: For more tongue pressure, see the MB 27LP, MB 27PB or the MB 41PB. For more tongue relief, see the MB 43MP. For the same benefits but with some palate pressure, see the MB 43HP. For the correctional version of this mouthpiece, see the MB 47 or MB 47PB. For the Level 3 version of this mouthpiece but no Independent Side Movement, see the MB 12 or MB 98. Myler 2-Ring Combination Bit MB04 Myler 2-Ring Combination Bit MB04

Myler 2-Ring Combination Bit MB04

$349.99
Myler Stainless Steel 4 3/4" 2-Ring Combination Bit, MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle, Level 2 The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure, however, it has a small (¼") port that introduces some tongue relief to the horse. The port allows the horse to swallow and move his tongue when he is moving forward and relaxed, which acts as a release or reward. The mouthpiece is curved, and it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: The MB 04 provides an excellent transition from Level One to Level Two. It is suitable for a wide range of horses including green horses, experienced horses entering the Myler System, horses that have been ridden exclusively in a single-jointed mouthpiece, or horses that have not been ridden for a while needing re-schooling. The 2-ring combination bit is a hybrid of a ring bit, shank bit, and hackamore and uses five different pressure points to disperse rein pressure. Because the noseband and chin strap are connected through the purchase, when the reins are engaged, the horse first feels nose, chin and poll pressure before he feels the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece can slide 1" before reaching a stop, where it will then engage and apply pressure. The purpose is to give the horse an opportunity to respond to the rider’s rein signals before applying mouthpiece pressure. The combination bit has Independent Swivel Cheek and the purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing. The noseband is flat leather with knotted cord on either side and the chin strap is synthetic to avoid stretching over time. Size: 4 3/4" Shank Action: Indirect Discipline: English or Western Degree of Leverage: The 2-ring combination bit offers two different rein positions: the big ring and lower ring. Big Ring = No leverage Lower Ring = Mild Notes: If you ride with your rein attached to the big ring, it will function only as a direct rein snaffle and not apply nose, chin, poll pressure as a combination bit.

Eggbutt with Hooks: The addition of the hooks to the cheek make this a more versatile version of the standard eggbutt. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheeks. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allows the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece (if available). Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Adding a curb strap (using a Myler curb strap kit) incorporates curb pressure. Curb pressure is recommended for ported mouthpieces. The small loop behind the top slot accommodates a curb strap (attach with two curb hooks). Both the top bridle slot and bottom rein slot will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather. Myler Eggbutt Bit w/ Hooks MB03

$269.99 $300.00
Myler Stainless Steel Eggbutt with Hooks, MB 03 Comfort Snaffle with Copper Roller, Level 1 The MB 03 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits with an added copper roller. The MB 03 rotates onto the tongue, applying tongue pressure, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and creates Independent Side Movement™. Independent Side Movement Stainless Steel Mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece Copper Inlay NOT Dressage Legal Notes: The MB 03 is identical to the MB 02 except for a copper roller on the center barrel which can comfort horses that are restless or nervous. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04. The addition of the hooks to the cheek make this a more versatile version of the eggbutt without hooks. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheeks. Myler Flat Shank Western Bit MB12

$229.99 $255.00
Myler Stainless Steel 7" Flat Shank, MB 12 Low Narrow Port, Level 3 The MB 12 is a solid Level 3 ported mouthpiece. Because the port is a little wider than the 43LP, the tongue pressure that the horse feels on the outside edges of the tongue is even milder than the 43LP. The port on this mouthpiece is 1 ¼", so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Suitable for a very finished horse that requires the occasional very mild reminder. It lacks Independent Side Movement™ so has a more solid feel and shows less rein movement than the MB 43LP or MB 33. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. NO Independent Side Movement Curved mouthpiece Sweet Iron mouthpiece Copper Inlay Notes: For a wider port, see the MB 16. For similar tongue relief with Independent Side Movement, see the MB 43LP. Myler Flat Shank Western Bit MB36

$287.99 $320.00
Myler Stainless Steel 7" Flat Shank, MB 36 Mullen Forward Tilt Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 36 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is 1" high, and tilted forward at a 45º angle, allowing just enough room for the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lip, but also applies tongue pressure because of the forward tilt. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars Copper Inlay Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece is similar to the MB 06, except that it is ¼" higher and the port is tilted forward. The MB 06 mouthpiece will apply less tongue pressure than the MB 36 but additionally offer less tongue relief when the reins are relaxed. For more overall tongue relief and less tongue pressure, see the 43LP. The 7" Flat Shank is stainless steel and curved slightly back towards the horse, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The Flat Shank has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other. Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB05

$278.99 $310.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 05 Low Medium Wide Ported Barrel, Level 3 The MB05 is one of the mildest Myler mouthpieces in terms of tongue pressure. The generously wide port allows room for the tongue to pass under the bit. However, unlike the solid MB 33, the MB 05 collapses slightly although it does not fully rotate on to the tongue like a Level 1 or Level 2 mouthpiece. This gives the mouthpiece more give and may apply some light tongue pressure although it works primarily off the lips and bars. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ¼" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Because the MB 05 offers such a high degree of tongue relief, the horse that goes well in this mouthpiece has a trustworthy and consistent disposition, and is trained to work off the leg and seat as well as the hands. Independent Side Movement Curved mouthpiece Sweet Iron mouthpiece Copper Inlay Notes: For a slight increase in tongue pressure, see the MB 43LP. For similar tongue relief without Independent Side Movement, see the MB 12. For the same tongue relief and Independent Side Movement, but with no collapse, see the MB 33. For more tongue relief, see the MB 16PB. Independent Side Movement™ Stainless steel mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay NOT Dressage Legal Notes: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02 but the center barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, which concentrates pressure on the center of the tongue more than the MB 02. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04. The addition of the hooks to the cheek make this a more versatile version of the eggbutt without hooks. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheeks. Size: 3 ½" rounded ring Action: Direct rein action when rein hook is not used. Indirect rein action when rein is fixed on rein hook. Discipline: English or Western Degree of Leverage: Little to no leverage when the hooks are used. 4.75", 5"
