Myler Small Baucher Bit MB02 Myler Small Baucher Bit MB02

Myler Small Baucher Bit MB02

$239.99 $265.00
Myler Stainless Steel Small Baucher, MB 02 Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel, Level 1 The MB 02 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 02 rotates onto the tongue, applying tongue pressure, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and creates Independent Side Movement™. Independent Side Movement™ Stainless steel mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay USEF Dressage Legal, 2019 Notes: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02 but the center barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, which concentrates pressure on the center of the tongue more than the MB 02. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04. Also known as a “hanging cheek” because the bridle attaches at the purchase, the Baucher is typically used for dressage. The fixed cheek keeps the bit suspended in the horse’s mouth and prevents it from sliding around in the bridle, giving the rider more control over the mouthpiece than a traditional loose ring. However, the reins remain free to slide. When engaged, the reins will pull back on the cheekpiece and mouthpiece, as well as rotate the purchase forward slightly, creating some poll pressure. Even though it has a fixed cheek, the Baucher is still considered a direct rein action cheekpiece because there is no leverage or curb action. Size: 3 1/4" cheek, 2" ring Action: Direct Discipline: English 5"

Myler Medium Dee Ring Bit MB02

$247.99 $275.00
Myler Stainless Steel 3 3/8" Medium Dee, MB 02 Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel, Level 1 The MB 02 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. Independent Side Movement Stainless Steel mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay USEF and FEI Dressage Legal, 2019. Consult rulebook for more information. Notes: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02 but the center barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, which concentrates pressure on the center of the tongue more than the MB 02. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04. The dee without hooks is a traditional "D" shaped cheek with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece. This style keeps the mouthpiece from draping on the tongue, providing a more direct signal than the loose ring. The straight side of the dee will not pull through the mouth and does not pinch. Size: 3 3/8" dee Action: Direct Notes: For a more versatile version of the cheek piece, see the English dee with hooks or the eggbutt with hooks. 5"

Myler MBB Black Steel Flat Shank w/ Dots MB06

$279.99 $330.00
Myler MBB Black Steel 6 3/4" Medium Shank, MB 06 Mullen with Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 06 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is ¾" high, just enough to allow the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the 06 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lips. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron Mouthpiece, Copper Inlay Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Black shank will discolor over time to an antique brown Stainless Steel Dots Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece will offer more tongue relief than the MB 06 when the reins are relaxed, but more tongue pressure when the reins are engaged. For more overall tongue relief, see MB 43LP. The MBB shank is a length of flat black steel curved slightly back towards the horse, with a teardrop purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment to the cheek with a decorative “stack.” The shank is decorated with stainless steel dots. The purchase is angled slightly away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. The black steel will discolor over time to an antique brown. The MBB flat shank is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. This shank uses the combination of fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. Size: 6 3/4" Action: Indirect Discipline: Western Degree of Leverage: Moderate 5"

Myler MBL Medium Shank MB43MP

$279.99 $325.00
Myler Stainless Steel 6 3/4" MBL Medium Shank, MB 43MP Narrow Medium Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 43MP does not rotate on to the tongue, but instead sits solidly across the bars and lips of the horse’s mouth. The port is narrower than a Level 3 mouthpiece, but still offers room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. Because the port is narrow, when the reins are engaged, the horse will feel a slight pressure on the outside edges of the tongue — a gentle reminder rather than a strong reprimand. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ½" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. The MB 43MP is the mildest of the Level Two-Three mouthpieces in terms of tongue pressure, just one step below a Level 3 mouthpiece. Sweet Iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay Notes: For more tongue pressure, see the MB 27LP. For more tongue relief, see the MB 41PB. For slightly less tongue relief or a lower port, see the 43LP. For the same benefits but with some palate pressure, see the MB 43HP. For the correctional version of this mouthpiece, see the MB 47 and MB 47PB. For the Level 3 version of this mouthpiece without Independent Side Movement, see the MB 12 or MB 98. The MBL Shank is a length of flat stainless steel curved slightly back towards the horse, with a teardrop purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece attaches loosely to the cheek with a small decorative stack that allows ⅛" of slide, just enough to allow more tongue relief. The purchase is angled slightly away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. The MBT has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other. The MBL is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. The MBL uses the combination of fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. Recommended for use with ported mouthpieces. Myler MBL Medium Shank MB16PB

$299.99 $345.00
Myler Stainless Steel 6 3/4" MBL Medium Shank, MB 16PB Wide Ported Barrel, Level 3 The MB 16PB has a generously wide and moderately high port that allows plenty of room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit, more so than the MB 33. Although the port is 1 ⅞", its generous width makes the mouthpiece sit very low in the mouth, minimizing the likelihood of any palate pressure. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Curved Mouthpiece Sweet Iron mouthpiece Copper Inlay Notes: For slightly less tongue relief, see the MB 33 or MB 05. For the same tongue relief without Independent Side Movement, see the MB 16. The MBL Shank is a length of flat stainless steel curved slightly back towards the horse, with a teardrop purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece attaches loosely to the cheek with a small decorative stack that allows ⅛" of slide, just enough to allow more tongue relief. Myler MBL Short Shank MB36

$323.99 $360.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5 1/2" MBL Short Shank, MB 36 Mullen Forward Tilt Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 36 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is 1" high, and tilted forward at a 45º angle, allowing just enough room for the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lip, but also applies tongue pressure because of the forward tilt. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. Independent Side Movement Sweet Iron mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars Copper Inlay Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece is similar to the MB 06, except that it is ¼" higher and the port is tilted forward. The MB 06 mouthpiece will apply less tongue pressure than the MB 36 but additionally offer less tongue relief when the reins are relaxed. For more overall tongue relief and less tongue pressure, see the 43MP. The MBL Shank is a length of flat stainless steel curved slightly back towards the horse, with a teardrop purchase and a rein ring.
