Myler Black Steel Western Dee MB09
$260.99 $290.00
Myler Black Steel Western Dee, MB 09 Single Joint Snaffle, Level 1
The MB 09 is a more comfortable Myler version of the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. Although it lacks the benefits of a “true” Myler mouthpiece, it has a distinctive curve so the bars of the bit wrap around the horse’s bar and lips which make the bit more comfortable. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.
NO Independent Side Movement
Sweet Iron Mouthpiece
Curved Mouthpiece
Black shank will discolor over time to an antique brown
Stainless Steel Dots
Copper Inlay
Notes: Popular with riders who are more comfortable with a traditional design, but we recommend that you try the 01, 02, or 03 to get the full benefit of Myler features at the same Level.
The Black Steel Western Dee without Hooks is a ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece. This traditional cheek style keeps the mouthpiece from draping on the tongue, providing a more direct signal than the loose ring. The straight side of ring will not pull through the mouth and does not pinch.
Size: 3" offset ring
Action: Direct
Discipline: Primarily Western
Notes: For a more versatile version, see the Western Dee with hooks.

Myler Flat Shank Western Bit MB29
$332.99 $370.00
Myler Stainless Steel 7" Flat Shank, MB 29 Correctional Cathedral Port, Level 2-3
The MB 29 is a traditional correctional mouthpiece, which has a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. The port itself is 1 ½" high, offering room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. The flat plate above the port is 1 ¼" high and ¾" wide and tilts back rather than sitting straight up. When the reins are engaged, the mouthpiece collapses and applies two points of pressure on the tongue while the flat plate tips forward and applies pressure to the palate. The pressure on the palate is distributed across the surface of the plate. Sweet Iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.
NO Independent Side Movement
Sweet Iron mouthpiece
Curved Mouthpiece
Copper Inlay
Notes: The MB 29 is not designed for use by the casual rider. Its use requires a very experienced rider with excellent hand control and a horse that is very finished in his training who knows how to ride off seat and leg, as well as being very light on the rein aids. When palate pressure is applied properly, it causes the horse to drop his head but because the palate is so sensitive, that type of pressure needs to be used with great restraint. For the same tongue relief but with milder palate pressure, see the MB 27PB HP. For a solid version offering more tongue relief with palate pressure, see the MB 13C.
The 7" Flat Shank is stainless steel and curved slightly back towards the horse, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The Flat Shank has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other. The purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. It has an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. The flat shank uses the combination of the fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll.
Action: Indirect
Discipline: Western
Degree of Leverage: Moderate

Myler Flat Shank Western Bit MB27
$287.99 $320.00
Myler Stainless Steel 7" Flat Shank, MB 27 Traditional Correctional, Level 2-3
The MB 27 is a traditional correctional mouthpiece, which has a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. This mouthpiece has a 2" port and is identical to the MB 27PB HP, except that it does not have Independent Side Movement. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.

Notes: For the same mouthpiece with a lower port, see the MB 27LP. For the same height port but with Independent Side Movement, see the MB 27PB HP. For the same mouthpiece with Independent Side Movement™ but a lower port, see the MB 27PB.

Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB02
$350.99 $390.00
Myler Stainless Steel 6" Shank 3-Ring Combination Bit, MB 02 Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel, Level 1
The MB 02 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 02 rotates onto the tongue, applying tongue pressure, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and creates Independent Side Movement™. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.
Independent Side Movement™
Sweet Iron mouthpiece
Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars
Copper Inlay
Notes: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02 but the center barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, which concentrates pressure on the center of the tongue more than the MB 02. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04.
The 6" stainless steel 3-ring combination bit is a hybrid of a ring bit, shank bit, and hackamore and uses five different pressure points to disperse rein pressure. Because the noseband and chin strap are connected through the purchase, when the reins are engaged, the horse first feels nose, chin and poll pressure before he feels the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece can slide 1" before reaching a stop, where it will then engage and apply pressure. The purpose is to give the horse an opportunity to respond to the rider’s rein signals before applying mouthpiece pressure. The combination bit has Independent Swivel Cheek and the purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing. The noseband is flat leather with knotted cord on either side and the chin strap is synthetic to avoid stretching over time.
Action: Indirect
Discipline: English or Western
Degree of Leverage: The 3-ring combination bit offers three different rein positions: the big ring, middle ring and bottom ring.
Big Ring = No leverage
Middle Ring = Mild
Bottom Ring = Mild
Notes: If you ride with your rein attached to the big ring, it will function only as a direct rein snaffle and not apply nose, chin, poll pressure as a combination bit.

Myler Parelli Shank Western Bit MB43LP
$349.99
Myler Parelli Stainless Steel B2 6" Shank, MB 43LP Narrow Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3
Working together since September 2006, Parelli USA and Myler Bits have designed a new Parelli Myler series of bits to compliment the Parelli Natural horsemanship program.
The MB 43LP does not rotate on to the tongue, but instead sits solidly across the bars and lips of the horse’s mouth. The port is narrower than a Level 3 mouthpiece, but still offers room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. Because the port is narrow, when the reins are engaged, the horse will feel a slight pressure on the outside edges of the tongue — a gentle reminder rather than a strong reprimand. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ¼" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. It is the mildest of the Level 2-3 mouthpieces in terms of tongue pressure, just one step below a Level 3 mouthpiece. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.
Independent Side Movement

Myler Pelham Bit MB02
$323.99 $360.00
Myler Stainless Steel Pelham, MB 02 Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel, Level 1
The MB 02 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 02 rotates onto the tongue, applying tongue pressure, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and creates Independent Side Movement™.

Copper Inlay
Notes: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02 but the center barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, which concentrates pressure on the center of the tongue more than the MB 02. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04.
The stainless steel Pelham is designed to be used with two pairs of reins simultaneously. The headstall attaches to the purchase ring which keeps the cheek stationary. The first set of reins are the snaffle reins, which attach to the larger ring adjacent to the mouthpiece. The second set of reins are the curb reins, which attach to the smaller ring at the bottom of the shank. Comes with curb chain.
The Pelham uses both direct (snaffle) and indirect (curb) rein action using two sets of reins acting on one mouthpiece. Similar to a double bridle, which also uses two sets of reins, but the double bridle requires a snaffle bit for the snaffle rein and a curb bit for the curb rein. The Pelham can be used with a bit converter, a leather loop connecting the snaffle and curb ring to which only one set of reins is attached.
Action: Snaffle ring is Direct rein action. Curb ring is Indirect rein action.
Size: 4" straight shank with purchase
Discipline: English
Degree of Leverage: Mild
Notes: For a cheek that offers both Direct and Indirect rein as separate options for one set of reins, see the Kimberwick.

Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB06
$269.99 $339.99
Myler Stainless Steel 3-Ring Combination Bit, MB 06 Mullen with Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3
The MB 06 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is ¾" high, just enough to allow the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the 06 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lips. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.
Independent Side Movement
Sweet Iron Mouthpiece
Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars
Copper Inlay
Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece will offer more tongue relief than the MB 06 when the reins are relaxed, but more tongue pressure when the reins are engaged. For more overall tongue relief, see MB 43LP.

Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit MB01
$269.99 $319.99
Myler Stainless Steel 3-Ring Combination Bit, MB 01 Comfort Snaffle with Narrow Barrel, Level 1
The MB 01 is the Myler alternative to the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 01 rotates onto the tongue to apply concentrated tongue pressure at the center barrel, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. However, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and allows for each side of the bit to be used independently. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.

Myler Eggbutt Bit w/ Hooks MB06
$242.99 $270.00
Myler Stainless Steel Eggbutt with Hooks, MB 06 Mullen with Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-The MB 06 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is ¾" high, just enough to allow the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the 06 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lips.

NOT Dressage Legal
Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece will offer more tongue relief than the MB 06 when the reins are relaxed, but more tongue pressure when the reins are engaged. For more overall tongue relief, see MB 43LP.
The addition of the hooks to the cheek make this a more versatile version of the eggbutt without hooks. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheeks. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allows the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece (if available). Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Adding a curb strap (using a Myler curb strap kit) incorporates curb pressure. Curb pressure is recommended for ported mouthpieces.
The small loop behind the top slot accommodates a curb strap (attach with two curb hooks). Both the top bridle slot and bottom rein slot will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather.
Size: 3 ½" rounded ring
Action: Direct rein action when rein hook is not used. Indirect rein action when rein is fixed on rein hook.
Discipline: English or Western
Degree of Leverage: Little to no leverage when the hooks are used.
