Myler Embossed Western Shank Bit MB36
$323.99 $360.00
Myler Stainless Steel Embossed 7 1/2" Shank, MB 36 Mullen Forward Tilt Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3
The MB 36 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is 1" high, and tilted forward at a 45º angle, allowing just enough room for the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lip, but also applies tongue pressure because of the forward tilt. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.
Independent Side Movement
Sweet Iron mouthpiece
Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips or bars
Copper Inlay
Notes: This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. The MB 36 mouthpiece is similar to the MB 06, except that it is ¼" higher and the port is tilted forward. The MB 06 mouthpiece will apply less tongue pressure than the MB 36 but additionally offer less tongue relief when the reins are relaxed. For more overall tongue relief and less tongue pressure, see the 43MP.
The Embossed Seven Shank is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. This shank uses the combination of fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. The cheek is embossed with a decorative floral pattern and concho. The mouthpiece attaches to the cheek with a square end that minimizes rein motion. The purchase is angled slightly away from the cheek to avoid rubbing.

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB33C
$229.99
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 33 Cyprium Medium Wide Ported Barrel, Level 3
The MB 33 is the mildest Myler mouthpiece in terms of tongue pressure. The generously wide port allows room for the tongue to pass almost completely under the bit. Because this mouthpiece does not rotate on to the tongue and the port is wide, it applies little to no tongue pressure, working primarily off the lips and bars. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ½" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Because the MB 33 offers such a high degree of tongue relief, the horse that goes well in this mouthpiece has a trustworthy and consistent disposition, and is trained to work off the leg and seat as well as the hands. Cyprium is a nickel-free copper alloy suitable for horses with a sensitivity to nickel.

Notes: For a slight increase in tongue pressure, see the MB 43LP or MB 43MP. For same tongue relief without Independent Side Movement, see the MB 16 (Western only). For the same tongue relief and Independent Side Movement, but with a slight degree of collapse, see the MB 05. For more generous tongue relief, see the MB 16PB.
The 5" HBT shank is stainless steel and slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The HBT shank has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other. The purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. It has an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. The HBT shank uses the combination of the fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll.
Action: Indirect

Degree of Leverage: Mild
Notes: The HBT is well suited to trail riding as the shorter shank makes grazing easier for the horse.

Myler Parelli Shank Western Bit MB43LP
$349.99
Myler Parelli Stainless Steel B2 6" Shank, MB 43LP Narrow Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3
Working together since September 2006, Parelli USA and Myler Bits have designed a new Parelli Myler series of bits to compliment the Parelli Natural horsemanship program.
The MB 43LP does not rotate on to the tongue, but instead sits solidly across the bars and lips of the horse’s mouth. The port is narrower than a Level 3 mouthpiece, but still offers room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. Because the port is narrow, when the reins are engaged, the horse will feel a slight pressure on the outside edges of the tongue — a gentle reminder rather than a strong reprimand. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ¼" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. It is the mildest of the Level 2-3 mouthpieces in terms of tongue pressure, just one step below a Level 3 mouthpiece. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.

Myler MBL Short Shank MB04
$310.99 $345.00
Myler Stainless Steel MBL Short Shank, MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle, Level 2
The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure, however, it has a small (¼") port that introduces some tongue relief to the horse. The port allows the horse to swallow and move his tongue when he is moving forward and relaxed, which acts as a release or reward. The mouthpiece is curved, and it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.

Notes: The MB 04 provides an excellent transition from Level One to Level Two. It is suitable for a wide range of horses including green horses, experienced horses entering the Myler System, horses that have been ridden exclusively in a single-jointed mouthpiece, or horses that have not been ridden for a while needing re-schooling.
The MBL Shank is a length of flat stainless steel curved slightly back towards the horse, with a teardrop purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece attaches loosely to the cheek with a small decorative stack that allows ⅛" of slide, just enough to allow more tongue relief. The purchase is angled slightly away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. The MBT has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other.
The MBL is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. The MBL uses the combination of fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. Recommended for use with ported mouthpieces.

The western dee with hooks is a circular stainless steel ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece, with top and bottom rings (“hooks”) for headstall and rein attachment. The small loop behind the top slot accommodates a curb strap (attach with two curb hooks). The top bridle ring will fit standard ⅝" leather found on most headstalls. The bottom rein ring has recently been updated to fit slobber straps up to approximately 1 ¾". The knob on the top of the rein ring is for decoration—it has no function.
The hooks make this a much more versatile version of the dee without hooks. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheek pieces. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allow the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece. Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Adding a curb strap (using a Myler curb strap kit) incorporates curb pressure. Curb pressure is recommended for ported mouthpieces.
Size: 3" offset ring
Action: Direct rein action when reins are not attached through rein hook. Indirect rein action when rein is fixed on rein hook.
Discipline: Primarily Western
Degree of Leverage: Little to no leverage when the hooks are used

Myler Stainless Steel Western Dee with Hooks, MB 02 Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel, Level 1
The MB 02 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 02 rotates onto the tongue, applying tongue pressure, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and creates Independent Side Movement™. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.

Notes: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02 but the center barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, which concentrates pressure on the center of the tongue more than the MB 02. For more tongue relief, step up to the MB 04.

The 6" stainless steel 3-ring combination bit is a hybrid of a ring bit, shank bit, and hackamore and uses five different pressure points to disperse rein pressure. Because the noseband and chin strap are connected through the purchase, when the reins are engaged, the horse first feels nose, chin and poll pressure before he feels the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece can slide 1" before reaching a stop, where it will then engage and apply pressure. The purpose is to give the horse an opportunity to respond to the rider’s rein signals before applying mouthpiece pressure. The combination bit has Independent Swivel Cheek and the purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing. The noseband is flat leather with knotted cord on either side and the chin strap is synthetic to avoid stretching over time.
Action: Indirect
Discipline: English or Western
Degree of Leverage: The 3-ring combination bit offers three different rein positions: the big ring, middle ring and bottom ring.
Big Ring = No leverage
Middle Ring = Mild
Bottom Ring = Mild
Notes: If you ride with your rein attached to the big ring, it will function only as a direct rein snaffle and not apply nose, chin, poll pressure as a combination bit.
This bit is special order and final sale.

Myler HBT Shank Western Bit MB32-3
$297.99 $330.00
Myler Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank, MB 32-3 Mullen Triple Barrel, Level 2
The MB 32-3 is an innovative Myler alternative to the traditional mullen. It has three barrels which turn the mouthpiece from the typical solid bar of a mullen into a flexible bar which allows the horse to elevate his tongue and swallow more easily. When the reins are engaged, the mouthpiece becomes a solid bar like a traditional mullen, but with an exaggerated curve. This curved bar rotates across the bars and lips down on to the tongue, applying pressure across the entire surface of the tongue. The flexibility of the MB 32-3 makes it very forgiving and comforting when relaxed, but offers the rider control when engaged. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.

Notes: Because the tongue pressure applied by the MB 32-3 is evenly distributed across the entire tongue, this mouthpiece is considered "stronger" than the MB 04. However, its flexibility makes it a forgiving mouthpiece that works well for horses who have suffered mouth trauma or damage, or horses that tend to go behind the bit. For a ported mullen style offering more tongue relief, see the MB 06 or MB 36.

$234.99 $260.00
Myler Stainless Steel 7" Flat Shank, MB 16 Medium Wide Port, Level 3
The MB 16 is similar to the MB 33 but without the Independent Side Movement. The generously wide port allows room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. Because this mouthpiece is very wide, it applies little to no tongue pressure, working primarily off the bars, chin and poll. This mouthpiece does not offer Independent Side Movement, making it suitable for competing in sports where excessive rein movement is undesirable (reining, Western pleasure). The port on this mouthpiece is 1 ⅝" high, so it will apply little or no palate pressure. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.
